Manager, ETCH Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager for the ETCH Customer Engineer team to lead service and warranty operations for semiconductor equipment in Korea. The role focuses on forecasting needs, managing start‑ups, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast financial, manpower and operational requirements for start‑up, warranty and service agreement businesses.
• Identify and pursue new service agreement opportunities in collaboration with marketing and sales.
• Manage start‑up projects, controlling time and cost, and oversee local inventories and RMA procedures.
• Maintain Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets and manage system start‑up and warranty costs within reserve.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with service performance and system uptime.
• Interview, hire and train customer engineers to support regional business.
• Promote safety practices, develop engineering skills and identify managerial talent.
• Escalate system downtimes according to procedures to achieve guaranteed uptime.
