Subcontract Engineer (VIE) – Construction Contracts

About the role

You will join the Technip Energies‑JGC joint venture team as a Subcontract Engineer on the Coral Norte offshore LNG project, based at Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje, South Korea. This 18‑month VIE assignment supports the Construction Contracts Engineer and provides hands‑on experience in contract administration for a major offshore construction site.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and support the commercial operation of Technip Energies construction contracts for the Coral Norte project.
• Monitor and respond to subcontractor requests for additional works, cost claims, and extension‑of‑time claims.
• Track subcontractor invoicing and payments on a monthly basis.
• Organise weekly meetings with subcontractors and prepare monthly activity reports.
• Draft contract amendments and manage correspondence related to construction contracts.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement and other disciplines to ensure uninterrupted subcontractor performance.
• Participate in regular site visits and HSE inspections.

Required profile

• Graduate of a general engineering programme, eager to work on an offshore LNG project.
• Rigorous, proactive, and able to work dynamically in a multicultural environment.
• Strong interest in contractual, financial and commercial negotiations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and fluent spoken and written English.
• Motivated, resilient and ready for a challenging site‑based assignment.
