Director, Korea Global Workplace & Infrastructure

About the role

Applied Materials is expanding its presence in Korea and needs a senior leader to oversee the full lifecycle of its workplace and infrastructure portfolio. The Director will be accountable for planning, design, construction, operations, and disposition of manufacturing, service, logistics, clean‑room R&D labs, and customer‑facing sites across the country. This role reports to the GWI APAC leadership team and partners with business unit executives and functional leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑year Korea portfolio strategy aligned with business growth, financial plans, and GWI priorities.
• Lead the end‑to‑end real‑estate and facilities lifecycle, including site selection, transactions, design, construction management, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
• Own capital and operating expense plans, identify cost‑efficiency opportunities, and manage budgets that may exceed $100 M.
• Drive vendor performance using KPIs, service‑level expectations, and formal performance‑management processes.
• Partner with site leadership to prioritize requests, resolve issues, and ensure a transparent communications plan that supports employee experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Finance, Business Management, Real Estate, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in real‑estate, construction, facilities operations, or workplace services, preferably in technology or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑location teams, manage large capital programs, and drive continuous improvement in performance, reliability, safety, and cost effectiveness.
• Strong business judgment, financial acumen, and executive communication skills to influence senior stakeholders across a matrixed global organization.
