Purchasing Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist to secure material availability for internal and external customers, supporting our mission to create resource‑efficient solutions in energy, food, water and shipping. The role works closely with the Purchasing Process, Supplier Forecast & Material Management, and the Replenishment Process to ensure timely supply.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage coil cutting plans, coil supply analysis, and inventory reduction strategies while monitoring LME raw‑material prices.
• Coordinate etching forecasts, capacity analysis, and supplier communications for acetate and working films.
• Select optimal end plates, support ship‑class inspections, and handle related documentation.
• Drive machining and polishing quality improvements, issue drawings and purchase orders, and guide work methods.
• Negotiate lead‑time and cost reductions, maintain supplier relationships, and support global sourcing activities.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end purchasing processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Mechanical Engineering) preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for purchase order and logistics management.
• Ability to monitor LME price fluctuations and perform capacity analysis.
