Ion Implant (VSE) Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Ion Implant (VSE) Customer Engineer to serve as the primary liaison with customers in Pyeongtaek. The role involves installing, maintaining, and upgrading semiconductor equipment while using digital analytics for troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior field service engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Utilize digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to assess and resolve technical issues.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 1–2 years of experience in customer/field service support or a related technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
