Bioinformatics Application Consultant

About the role

The Bioinformatics Application Consultant will join Roche Diagnostics Korea to support customers in deploying and using bioinformatics pipelines for NGS and multi‑omics data. The role combines technical expertise, customer training, and collaboration with regional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and integrate bioinformatics pipelines in diverse IT environments, including local servers and cloud architectures.
• Develop and maintain Python or R scripts for data processing, statistical analysis, and scientific computing.
• Manage end‑to‑end NGS/Omics workflows from raw FASTQ QC to functional interpretation, covering RNA‑seq, proteomics, WGS/WES and multi‑omics datasets.
• Provide hands‑on training, technical consultation and documentation for customers and distributors.
• Collaborate with APAC Bioinformatics and Application Support teams to ensure consistent service delivery.

Required profile

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience with a MSc in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Computer Science, Statistics or related field (or BSc with 4+ years industry experience).
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in bioinformatics data analysis, pipeline development and customer‑facing technical support for NGS assays.
• Strong communication skills in English, able to translate biological questions into computational solutions.
