Sourcing Buyer

About the role

JCI is looking for a Sourcing Buyer in Seoul to deliver end-to-end sourcing and procurement services to the end-users and requesters of all Korea I&S business units. The role covers purchase orders, contract review, competitive bidding, issue resolution, reporting, supplier management and training.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase Orders: review all purchase requisitions raised by requestors and take corrective action so that backup documentation complies with JCI procurement policies and procedures.
• Contract review: review and prepare contract documents such as Statements of Work, Master Supply and Purchasing Agreements, amendments, exhibits and termination letters, and lead or facilitate contract negotiations as needed.
• Competitive bidding: prepare complex specifications, author RFI/RFP/RFQs, evaluate suppliers on site, run the bidding process, negotiate contracts and handle pre-award and post-award activities.
• Issue resolution: track and resolve PR and PO issues such as adding funds to POs, changing cost centers, correcting GL codes, updating vendor information and invoice matching, and liaise with suppliers on deliveries.
• Reporting and analysis: develop and generate periodic and ad-hoc reports on spend, savings, PO cycle time and after-the-fact data, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Collaboration: work with Audit, T&E and Finance teams on processes such as PO closure and supplier maintenance, and support import and customs clearance tasks with the logistics and trade compliance team.
• Supplier management: lead or collaborate on supplier performance reviews, including quarterly business reviews, and train stakeholders on the procurement function.

Required profile

• 4+ years of procurement experience in Korea markets.
• Reading, writing and speaking Korean and English.
• Full use of Microsoft Office applications.
• High motivation, strong analytical and execution discipline, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work effectively in uncertain situations and solve problems.
