Senior Accounting Manager (Dongtan)

About the role

SGS, a global testing, inspection and certification company, is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to join its Dongtan office in Hwaseong, South Korea. The role combines leadership of the Accounts Payable team with financial planning, reporting, compliance and business partnering, with a gradual assumption of responsibility for major financial areas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Accounts Payable team: oversee operations, set policies and procedures, manage vendor relationships and resolve payment discrepancies, and lead, train and evaluate team members.
• Support the Finance Director in financial strategy and planning, and take part in leadership training and group policy development.
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans, and give management business insights and financial recommendations.
• Ensure financial reporting complies with IFRS and K-GAAP, take part in audits, statutory filings and tax compliance, and strengthen internal controls.
• Work with Business Unit Heads to improve profitability and efficiency, and support evaluation of CAPEX, M&A and restructuring projects.
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives in finance operations.
• Monitor regulatory developments, advise on their impact, and build relationships with government agencies and regulators.
• Take part in regional and global finance leadership programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• At least 12 years of relevant accounting or finance experience in multinational corporations.
• Strong background in Accounts Payable or general accounting, with team leadership experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Korean.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, integrity, and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

Preferred experience

• Testing, inspection and certification (TIC) or professional services industry experience.
• Working knowledge of Hyperion / Oracle systems.
• Process improvement, automation, cost optimization and digital finance transformation experience.
