Researcher - Organometallic Compounds (ALD/CVD)

About the role

Air Liquide is hiring a researcher for its Metal Oxides and Nitrides group at Air Liquide Laboratories Korea in Seoul. The role develops novel organometallic and silicon-based compounds for atomic layer deposition (ALD) and chemical vapour deposition (CVD) thin-film processing, supporting the semiconductor industry. It sits within the R&D strategy and roadmap, working in labs, either internally or through partnerships such as universities and start-ups.

Key responsibilities

• Design, synthesis and purification of organometallic and/or silicon-based compounds, including analysis
• Analyse samples using NMR, TGA, DSC, mass spectrometry and similar techniques
• Report on R&D progress, patent applications, internal meetings and customer meetings
• Lead and organise tasks within work packages or projects
• Mentor junior scientists and interns
• Support interactions within the Air Liquide group and with customers and partners
• Take part in safety activities

Required profile

• Related M.S. degree with 3-5 years of experience
• Business-proficient English; conversational Korean is a plus
• Ability to work autonomously
• Experience with pyrophoric, toxic and combustible materials is a strong asset
• Foreign nationals must hold residency status allowing employment in South Korea

Preferred requirements

• Ph.D. or postdoctoral experience
• Conversational Korean
• Experience in CVD/ALD
• Experience in a private or academic R&D lab handling gases
