On-site Part-time Victim Advocate – Daegu, Korea

About the role

This on‑site, part‑time position provides comprehensive advocacy and support services to Soldiers, Army families, and civilians affected by domestic violence. The Victim Advocate works within the Army’s Family Advocacy Program to ensure timely, confidential assistance and coordination with community resources.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver crisis intervention, emotional support, and safety planning for victims of domestic abuse.
• Arrange transportation and accompany victims to medical, legal, or law‑enforcement appointments when requested.
• Assist victims in obtaining protective orders, emergency shelter, food, and benefits information.
• Conduct initial screening, non‑clinical risk and lethality assessments, and develop individualized safety plans.
• Coordinate with the Family Advocacy Program Manager and other agencies to provide a coordinated response.
• Provide a warm hand‑off to community resources for individuals not eligible for Military Treatment Facility services.
• Respond to victim contacts within 20 minutes by phone or within 60 minutes face‑to‑face when requested.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to victim advocacy and confidentiality.
• Ability to assess imminent risk and make appropriate referrals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
