Business Development Specialist – Air Freight

About the role

Maersk is seeking a Business Development Specialist for Air Freight to drive growth in Korea. You will identify new opportunities, expand customer relationships, and deliver value‑driven logistics solutions as part of a diverse, high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new air freight business within the Direct Transport Sales (DTS) portfolio.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Partner with sales, product and stakeholder teams to create customer‑centric solutions and commercial strategies.
• Develop and execute account growth plans aligned with market trends and Maersk’s objectives.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline in Salesforce (SFDC) with high‑quality data.
• Lead customer tenders, pricing discussions and solution proposals.
• Monitor market developments, industry trends and competitor activities to spot growth opportunities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in air freight within a freight forwarding organization, covering sales, operations, product, pricing or customer experience.
• Proven ability to build customer relationships and identify business opportunities.
• Experience with SME customers, preferably in e‑commerce, K‑Beauty, consumer goods, retail or technology.
• Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and execution mindset.
• Self‑driven, proactive and results‑oriented with a passion for customer engagement.
• Business‑level English proficiency, both written and spoken.
