Manager, PDC Customer Engineer

About the role

The Manager, PDC Customer Engineer leads a district of customer engineers, builds strong client relationships, and ensures successful system installations and support for semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant customers in the district, conducting regular visits.
• Manage, coach, and direct customer engineers, handling salary and career planning, performance appraisals, and corrective actions.
• Serve as the primary interface with Product Divisions for tech support, training, spares, and reliability.
• Oversee account planning with District Sales Engineer and provide support plans for system sales.
• Responsible for financial forecasting, cost efficiency, and financial results of the district.
• Plan, report, and execute system installations, including pre‑facility and start‑up meetings.
• Manage RMA procedures and track customer engineer hours for accuracy.

Required profile

• Strong leadership ability to provide direction, administer policies, and mentor new engineers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for gaining cooperation and presenting technical information.
• Judgment and problem‑solving skills within defined procedures and policies.
• Understanding of Applied Materials’ global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical standards.
