Senior Software Engineer

About the role

GE Healthcare is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its ultrasound research institute in Seongnam. The role leads the development and implementation of application and systems software, designing, developing, testing and debugging software to improve product functionality and integrate system features. Collaboration with various teams is key, and candidates who can communicate in English are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality software components and features, taking ownership of specific modules
• Collaborate with architects and team members to implement system designs
• Develop and run testing strategies, and troubleshoot complex defects and performance issues
• Contribute to system integration and end-to-end feature delivery, and take part in design reviews
• Mentor junior engineers and help improve development processes
• Comply with the Quality Manual, Quality Management System and Quality Management Policy, complete quality and compliance training on time, and report quality or compliance concerns
• Support closure of regulatory and quality requirements before delivering design outputs and program deliverables

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field
• 7 to 12 years of software development experience
• Business-level English communication for global collaboration

Required skills

• Software development, lifecycle and testing methodologies
• Object-oriented design and programming in C++, C# or similar
• Application development, debugging and performance optimization
• Preferred: modern frameworks and development tools, AI/ML model integration, API development, UI frameworks such as WPF and Qt, microservices or modular architecture, Git workflows, and fluent written and spoken English
