EHS Manager, Safety Engineer

About the role

The EHS Manager will lead Environment, Health and Safety support for Applied Materials’ Samsung account in Korea, ensuring safe and compliant field operations and driving the execution of company EHS programs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead EHS support for the Samsung account, covering field service, customer fab operations, project execution and issue resolution.
• Manage, coach and develop a team of Safety Engineers, setting priorities and supporting career growth.
• Partner with field teams, account management and Samsung stakeholders to enable safe, compliant and efficient operations.
• Implement Applied Materials’ EHS controls such as risk assessment, JHA, PTP, contractor safety, MOC, chemical safety, LOTO, electrical safety, fall prevention and incident prevention.
• Review high‑risk work, identify hazards and define controls in customer fab environments.
• Provide EHS assessment for projects, real‑estate initiatives and facility changes.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action tracking.
• Monitor Korean EHS regulatory changes and translate them into practical guidance for field operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
• Industrial Safety license (산업안전기사, 산업안전산업기사) mandatory; safety manager qualification required.
• 10–15+ years of experience in EHS, safety engineering, field safety, semiconductor manufacturing or high‑risk technical service.
• Minimum 3 years of people‑management or team‑leadership experience.
• Strong Korean and English communication skills.

Required skills

• Occupational safety and field safety expertise for semiconductor fab hazards.
• Knowledge of Korean EHS regulations and customer‑site requirements.
• Proficiency with EHS management systems, risk assessment, incident investigation and corrective‑action management.
