Display Supplier Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a senior Display Supplier Engineer to lead supplier quality and process improvement initiatives for its display manufacturing operations in Korea. The role combines technical expertise in machining, welding and quality systems with project‑management responsibility across global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support supplier process improvements in machining, welding and quality management systems, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to define standards.
• Plan, execute and monitor supplier‑related improvement projects, maintaining schedules, risk registers and milestone tracking.
• Participate in supplier audits, ensure compliance with Applied Materials’ quality standards, and report KPIs and risks to regional leadership.
• Attend weekly engineering and quality meetings, track action items and contribute to governance reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, machining/welding process control or manufacturing quality systems.
• Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings and conduct detailed DWG reviews.
• Fluent in English and Korean, with strong communication skills for global stakeholder interaction.

Required skills

• Machining and welding process knowledge.
• Quality‑problem solving methods (8D, 5 Why, statistical analysis, JMP).
• Supplier audit experience and familiarity with quality management systems.
• Display‑side process kit knowledge (CVD, PVD, OLED, susceptor, shadow frame, PQP, PFMEA).
• Project‑management tools such as MS Project and Smartsheet.
