Customer Engineer – Field Service (DDP)

About the role

As a Customer Engineer (DDP) at Applied Materials you will act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostics to troubleshoot and ensure optimal performance of complex systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior field service engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Utilize digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply diagnostic techniques to resolve technical issues.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience or trade certification.
• 1–2 years of customer/field service support experience in a technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills

• Digital analytics and diagnostic techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Basic mechanical aptitude (pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, thermodynamics).
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
