Director of Business Development – Media Localization

About the role

TransPerfect is seeking a Director of Business Development to expand its MediaNEXT engagement model in Seoul. You will lead the sales effort for video localization services—including subtitles, voice‑over, and graphic work—leveraging proprietary technology tools to help global brands communicate effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and close new clients through referrals, cold calling, networking, tradeshows, and regional organizations.
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, guiding each opportunity through the full sales cycle.
• Maintain long‑term client relationships by delivering elite service and industry‑specific insights.
• Develop and execute sales plans to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
• Generate daily outreach via direct mail, digital marketing, and cold calls.
• Present TransPerfect solutions in one‑on‑one, group, online, and in‑person meetings.
• Manage client expectations, pricing, and contractual issues while consulting on best practices.
• Travel for conferences and client meetings as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within video localization or related media services.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, own responsibilities, and drive results.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
