APAC People Ops Generalist (Korea)

About the role

Speak is rapidly expanding its People Operations function across APAC. The Generalist will own employee‑lifecycle operations for Korea, Japan and Taiwan, ensuring compliance and building scalable processes that support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Run the full FTE lifecycle across KR, JP and TW – onboarding, contracts, probation, off‑boarding, HRIS and data audits.
• Track multi‑market compliance, flag regulatory changes and keep the employee handbook up‑to‑date.
• Serve as the go‑to resource for employees on lifecycle and People Ops questions.
• Administer local benefits and perks, and support People programs such as engagement surveys and performance cycles.
• Map existing workflows, identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Build and maintain the APAC People Ops SOP and playbook library.
• Design and implement AI‑driven automation for contracts, onboarding triggers and data entry.
• Collect feedback from employees and partners to prioritize high‑impact improvements.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in People Operations, HR or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving and project‑management skills.
• Excellent communicator with high EQ, able to navigate sensitive conversations.
• Trusted with confidential information and able to make trade‑offs under pressure.
• Curiosity about AI and automation, quick to adopt new tools.
• Self‑starter who can operate without clear direction in a fast‑moving environment.
• Fluent in English for daily collaboration and basic business writing.
• Based in Seoul and available for hybrid in‑office work.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with HRIS platforms.
• Knowledge of multi‑market compliance requirements.
• Ability to design and document SOPs and playbooks.
• Experience implementing workflow automation and AI‑enabled tools.
