Regional Employee Relations Specialist – APAC

About the role

As part of Applied Materials’ centralized Employee Relations organization, this role is based in Bundang, Korea and serves as a regional APAC consulting function. It partners with Global Employment Law, HR Business Partners, Ethics & Compliance, Security and business leaders to manage employee relations matters and workplace investigations across Korea and other Asian markets such as China, Taiwan and Japan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end employee relations investigations, handling intake, interviews, analysis, escalation and closure while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Advise managers on policy interpretation, disciplinary actions and performance‑management processes, including drafting and reviewing related documentation.
• Provide strategic consultation to HR Business Partners and senior leaders across multiple APAC countries, acting as a liaison between HR COEs, legal and non‑HR partners.
• Track, analyze and report ER case metrics, identify trends and root‑cause issues, and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives for ER processes and tools.
• Partner with Global Employment Law to deliver training and technical support to HR and managers on employee‑relations and performance‑management practices.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in employee relations, investigations, performance management or HR business partnering.
• Strong consulting, influencing and coaching abilities with sound judgment on business risk.
• In‑depth knowledge of labor and employment laws in APAC and solid understanding of HR compliance principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, high integrity, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Collaborative, culturally sensitive and able to navigate complex, matrixed environments across multiple countries.
