ADAS Mechanics Lead Engineer - Autonomous and Commercial Mobility

About the role

AUMOVIO, spun off from the Continental Automotive sector in September 2025, is looking for a Mechanics Lead Engineer in its autonomous and commercial mobility business in Seongnam, South Korea. The MELE is end-to-end responsible for mechanics activities, including releasing the technical maturity of the mechanical design, and leads mechanical development and engineering test activities from planning to integration and final validation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and drive all mechanics activities according to customer and internal milestones, scope and quality.
• Lead the mechanics team to meet project goals in scope, timing and quality.
• Lead mechanics-related requirements engineering from initial analysis through test execution.
• Track the optimization of new and existing designs to improve cost and manufacturability (design to cost).
• Ensure timely availability of mechanics components for builds.
• Lead issue resolution, including planning, monitoring, closure and on-time execution.
• Ensure mechanics test execution meets project and process requirements, and monitor and report project status.
• Prepare and perform mechanics releases so that all activities are done and release documents are ready for the release manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design.
• Experience with packaging studies and vehicle integration constraints.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Experience supporting both prototype and mass production phases.
• Experience designing ADAS components such as cameras, radars and ultrasonic sensors is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CATIA V5, V6)
• Strong understanding of automotive standards and requirements
• Good problem-solving skills
