Account Executive, South Korea

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is looking for an Account Executive in Seoul to join its SME & Growth sales team. You will bring on new customers in South Korea's trading and distribution ecosystem, such as authorized distributors, trading houses and channel partners, and turn them into successful partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Increase revenue and acquire new clients among distributors and trading firms in South Korea.
• Own the full sales cycle and territory management from prospecting to close, focusing on distributors.
• Build and manage a pipeline through outbound outreach, referrals and industry events.
• Sell consultative solutions covering cross-border payments, FX exposure management, multi-currency accounts, receivables/payables and reconciliation.
• Identify and influence multiple decision-makers across finance, treasury, operations, procurement and compliance.
• Lead negotiations on bespoke commercial agreements and multi-product solutions, including FX pricing, credit terms and margin structures.
• Ensure a smooth onboarding and ramp-up for new customers, and represent Airwallex at client meetings and industry events.
• Maintain a CRM database of current and potential customers and forecast pipeline.
• Work with product, risk, compliance and support teams to speed up customer outcomes.

Required profile

• 4+ years of sales experience, preferably on a technical or financial product, with strong business development and outbound results.
• Proven success winning customers in trading and distribution within South Korea.
• Ability to lead complex negotiations and multi-stage sales cycles.
• Strong analytical skills, pipeline management and forecasting.
• Nice to have: an accredited KBI or KIFIN FX training certificate.

Required skills

• Excellent presentation, communication and solution-selling skills.
• Fluent Korean and English.
• Familiarity with Korea's cross-border trading corridors (KRW against USD, CNY, JPY, EUR).
