About the role
Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The Application Engineer (Etch) will support service product development, deployment and customer troubleshooting for advanced etch equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 7+ years of semiconductor Etch process and hardware expertise with hands‑on lab/fab experience.
- Engage in service product development, including NPI alpha in the lab and optimization at customer sites.
- Deploy new service products to resolve high‑value problems in fabs and validate field performance.
- Lead projects to meet KPIs and ensure successful delivery at customer locations.
- Communicate progress, results and next steps clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Document best‑known methods and procedures to create training material and train‑the‑trainer programs.
- Develop or support algorithms using languages such as R or Python (a plus).
- Travel internationally approximately 25% of the time.
Required profile
- Minimum 7 years of semiconductor Etch process and hardware experience.
- Hands‑on laboratory and fabrication expertise with knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art analytics applications.
- Willingness to travel internationally (~25%).
- Ability to write or support algorithms (R, Python) is advantageous.
