VP, Head of Compliance (Securities)

About the role

The Head of Compliance leads the Local Compliance department and works with Regional Compliance so that the organisation stays compliant with all relevant legislation and regulations. The role embeds sound Compliance Risk Management practices across the organisation, manages compliance risks and interprets rules and regulations for the company. It reports to the local Branch Manager and functionsally to the Regional Head of Compliance (Asia).

Key responsibilities

• Translate the organisation's compliance risk appetite into principles and objectives, develop risk management frameworks and challenge risk management execution locally.
• Advise senior managers on policy, projects and change initiatives, and manage stakeholder engagement plans.
• Challenge business initiatives and processes to identify material compliance issues early.
• Proactively inform and respond to regulators, MBB, SB and other stakeholders.
• Set performance objectives for direct reports and drive the compliance culture.
• Build relationships internally and with local authorities, and act as the local Whistleblower Reporting Officer, MLRO and Data Protection Officer.
• Monitor FEC/CDD events and support the implementation of the Global Personal Data Protection Policy.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Law, Finance or Business Administration.
• At least 10 years of experience in financial institutions, ideally in compliance or risk functions.
• Fluency in English and Korean, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and assess risks.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
• Expertise in interpreting and applying FISCMA and other applicable laws and regulations in Korea.
• Strong collaboration with regional and global compliance teams.
