Project Engineer - Cement & Metal Industry

About the role

ABB is hiring a Project Engineer for its Process Industries division within Automation Business, focused on the Cement and Metal industries in Cheonan, South Korea. The position reports to the Project Operations Manager and acts as design authority for an engineering discipline of low to medium complexity, working on small projects or parts of larger ones in a cost-effective way.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques and procedures to carry out engineering assignments.
• Provide technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities.
• Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for engineering projects.
• Use checklists to perform design verification in line with applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
• Apply basic design thinking and design-for-excellence concepts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Over 3 years of experience in automation systems (PLC, DCS).
• Basic understanding or experience of automation processes and system operations.
• Business-level English (verbal and written) and fluency in Korean.
• Able to travel domestically (over 50%) and holds a valid driver's licence.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Industrial Safety Engineer are preferred.
