Mechanical Engineer - Transformer Structural Design

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer in Cheonan-si, South Korea. The role gives in-depth knowledge of the specific market so that clients receive top-quality products, and contributes to business growth, customer satisfaction and the building of a team or function within a global environment.

Key responsibilities

• Transformer structural design and analysis
• Design of protection and control panels, including wiring diagrams
• Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, BOMs and technical documents
• Structural verification using engineering calculations and FEA
• Review of customer specifications and technical requirements
• Collaboration with manufacturing, quality, procurement and project teams
• Ensuring compliance with international standards, customer requirements and internal regulations
• Support for product improvement and new design development

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Experience in structural design of transformers, switchgear or similar electrical equipment

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and CREO or SolidWorks
• Experience with FEA tools is an advantage
• Knowledge of Python programming, AI-based engineering tools or design automation is an advantage
