Production Operator - Chemical Manufacturing

About the role

MKS is hiring a Production Operator for chemical manufacturing. The role covers carrying out production according to production plans, work instructions and standard operating procedures, and involves handling raw materials, dosing, mixing, sampling, filling and packaging.

Key responsibilities

• Perform chemical production and manufacturing operations in line with production plans, work instructions and SOPs.
• Verify and prepare raw materials and carry out production activities including dosing, mixing, sampling, filling and packaging.
• Safely operate production equipment such as mixing vessels, pumps, agitators and scales, and monitor process conditions and equipment status.
• Use MES and barcode systems to verify raw material, batch and production information and keep production records.
• Clean and inspect vessels and equipment after production, and report process, equipment or quality issues promptly.
• Support production trials and process or equipment improvements with relevant departments.
• Handle and move raw materials and finished products, maintaining 5S and good housekeeping.
• Comply with EHS, quality, SOPs and work instructions, and hand over production status and key issues between shifts.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in chemical production or a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to stand and move for long periods and to lift and move materials and packaging.
• Willingness to work in a chemical manufacturing environment with EHS procedures and PPE, and shift work may be required.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of production equipment, work instructions and SOPs, or ability to learn them quickly.
• Basic ability to use MES and barcode systems.
• Numerical skills and ability to use measuring equipment.
• Commitment to safety, quality and compliance, with good communication and teamwork.
