About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer at Applied Materials, you will apply your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to solve complex mechanical problems, design custom tooling, and support the full product life‑cycle from prototyping to final assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve difficult mechanical issues with limited supervision.
• Develop, design, and modify mechanical layouts, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
• Design and implement custom tooling, fixturing, and processes for handling, assembly, and disassembly of components.
• Lead or execute projects, develop key suppliers, and generate mechanical product specifications.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4‑7 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work independently and communicate complex technical information clearly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, sheet‑metal design, material selection, and manufacturing methods.
• Experience with GD&T, flow analysis, and Design for Excellence principles.
