Journeyman Electrician - Military Facility, Pyeongtaek

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Journeyman-level electrician to support a military facility in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. The electrician will carry out the full range of work involved in the repair, overhaul, maintenance and servicing of the facility's electrical systems, working as part of a small multi-functional trade team and assisting other tradesmen when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and modify standard and specialized commercial and industrial electrical components and systems
• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs and modifications on complex electrical systems using the Reliability Centered Maintenance Methodology
• Discuss plans, modifications and user needs with engineering or scientific personnel, review plans, specifications and drawings, and plan and install equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment where specifications and technical manuals are missing or incomplete, and test systems after installation, modification or repair
• Complete required documentation on paper and on a computer, including accurate lists of parts and materials needed
• Assist other tradesmen as needed to complete contract work

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience supporting large buildings, preferably in an overseas environment
• Journeyman license issued by a U.S. state, or 5 years' relevant experience with large complex electrical systems up to medium voltage
• Experience with commercial and industrial electrical distribution, lighting, building automation, diesel power generation, switchgear, fire and life safety, communications, electronic security and CCTV systems
• Good verbal and instructional skills, able to mentor and train an assigned apprentice
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, work well in a team and independently, and handle issues tactfully
• TS/SCI clearance at the time of application
