Director, New Business Development

About the role

DePuy Synthes, part of Johnson & Johnson's Orthopaedics business, is recruiting a Director, New Business Development in Seoul, South Korea. The role leads external partnership, business development and M&A initiatives and reports to the VP Marketing Asia Pacific. It involves finding and executing partnership and acquisition opportunities in orthopaedics and technology (including digital health) and advancing innovation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Find and analyse new business opportunities based on unmet customer and market needs to drive inorganic growth
• Conduct primary and secondary research on market and technology to feed strategy and deal origination
• Support growth strategies, prepare market and valuation models and support due diligence
• Support structuring and closing of transactions and present partnership opportunities to International, regional and market leaders
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and key opinion leaders
• Help develop the roadmap for new business development, from market creation to adoption after product launch
• Advance the innovation agenda and help set up platforms to deliver innovation to DePuy Synthes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from a reputable university with at least 7 years of business experience, or an MBA/advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience finding and analysing innovation in medtech (including digital) and developing business cases
• Experience developing and implementing inorganic growth strategies
• Preferred: licensing, M&A, consulting or banking experience; customer-facing role; orthopaedics or healthcare industry experience
• Fluent English; up to 70% domestic and international travel; APAC region (Korea, Japan, Singapore)
