Director, Global Construction (Taiwan)

About the role

Coupang is looking for a Director, Global Construction (Taiwan) to oversee the entire construction project lifecycle for newly developed logistics centers owned or master-leased by Coupang. The role leads design, engineering, scheduling, quality and risk management across architecture, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications and fire protection systems, and sets technical standards and performance requirements based on Coupang's logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project management for new construction projects in Taiwan and manage the Taiwan Global Construction Team
• Coordinate with stakeholders across architectural, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications and fire protection disciplines
• Conduct site reviews and business feasibility assessments early in projects
• Review and revise design documents, manage permitting, set design standards and drive key project decisions
• Conduct technical reviews, develop findings and recommend alternative solutions
• Analyze the impact of applicable laws and regulations
• Drive process standardization and improve SOPs and Statements of Work
• Develop and adjust project schedules, analyze delays and set recovery plans
• Monitor project budgets and manage costs and design changes
• Set construction execution standards during construction
• Manage bidding, contracting and progress payments for CM firms, design and engineering consultants and contractors

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering or a related field
• At least 17 years of construction management experience, including design and construction
• Experience in construction management for logistics facilities, manufacturing plants or similar buildings
• Managerial experience in construction or real estate development
• Korean language proficiency, with verbal and written communication in English or Mandarin Chinese
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

Preferred qualifications

• Full-lifecycle experience of large-scale projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction and closeout
• Professional licenses or certifications such as Registered Architect, Professional Engineer, Master Craftsman or Engineer
• Experience delivering global projects in Korean, English and Chinese, or managing projects in Taiwan
