Korea Lab Facilities Engineer – Electrical, Mechanical, Gas & Chemical

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The Korea Lab Facilities Engineer will act as a subject‑matter expert in electrical, mechanical, gas or chemical engineering, supporting 24 × 7 laboratory operations in Korea.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install, operate and maintain electrical, mechanical and chemical infrastructure for semiconductor processing labs.
• Support roadmap planning, capacity forecasting and budgeting for lab facilities.
• Lead retrofit, end‑of‑life and engineering projects, including tool hook‑ups to power, gases, chemicals and safety systems.
• Ensure 100 % uptime of lab systems, troubleshoot issues and drive reliability and efficiency improvements.
• Manage compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Gas or Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in facilities operations for semiconductor fab or AT sites, including 5 years in a similar role.
• Relevant certifications such as Engineer Air‑Conditioning Refrigerating Machinery; preferred CFM, IFMA or PE.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, fire codes, MSDS and MOC procedures.
