IT Customer Engineer – Tool Computing & Server Infrastructure

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to resolve technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve computing infrastructure issues that affect tool operations in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Operate and maintain enterprise IT environments, including virtualization, container platforms, storage and network systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement of processes and system reliability.
• Coordinate with internal technical teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical problems and support hardware replacement, server recovery and system restoration.

Required profile

• Full‑time, regular employee (Assignee / Regular).
• Travel up to 20% of the time to customer sites.
• Relocation not eligible.
