Software Engineer – Multi‑Agent UAV Autonomy (Defense)

About the role

Our defense customers are building fleets of unmanned aerial systems that must fly, coordinate, and complete missions in the real world. We build the tools they use to develop that autonomy. We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Korea office to build Applied Intuition's multi‑agent autonomy development tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core features of autonomy development tools, focusing on multi‑agent mission planning, coordination, and training workflows.
• Validate tools in practice by building reference multi‑agent UAV autonomy, exercising the full workflow from simulation to real‑airframe deployment, and turning failures into product requirements.
• Define simulation usage across the development cycle, specifying fidelity needs, tuning, and validation workflows to bridge simulation and real flight behavior.
• Collaborate with US‑based product and engineering teams, acting as the Korea‑based extension of global product teams.
• Guide Korean defense customers on tool usage, lead technical deep‑dives, and translate operational requirements into product specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional engineering or equivalent research experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑oriented environment.
• Hands‑on experience in UAV development (building and flying real unmanned aircraft) or multi‑agent optimization and control (including ML/reinforcement learning).
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, excellent English communication, and ability to lead technical discussions with customers.
