External Affairs Lead – South Korea

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Seoul‑based public policy expert to lead its AI policy engagement in South Korea. You will shape AI governance, support commercial expansion, and build Anthropic’s policy presence from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Map and cultivate relationships with Korean AI policymakers, think‑tank researchers, and civil‑society leaders at national and sub‑national levels.
• Brief diverse stakeholders on AI safety and policy opportunities in Korea.
• Organise and speak at policy events, panels, and workshops on AI safety.
• Analyse emerging legislation, craft engagement strategies, and produce policy submissions and response documents.
• Support senior colleagues with meeting briefs and follow‑up actions.
• Develop programmes to regularly engage Korean policymakers, think tanks, and NGOs.
• Translate Anthropic research into concrete policy proposals and thought‑leadership pieces tailored to the Korean regulatory environment.
• Partner with non‑profits and academics to publish discussion papers on responsible AI.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in government, technology, legal or related policy environments.
• Proven track record of advocacy with Korean government authorities.
• Experience analysing legislation and navigating regulatory processes.
• Ability to design and execute complex policy campaigns.
• Strong communication skills for translating technical topics into accessible information.
• Fluency in Korean and English.
