Environmental Officer – Site EHS & Sustainability

About the role

The Environmental Officer will lead the overall environmental, health and safety (EHS) program at the HPPK site, ensuring compliance with Korean regulations and HP global standards. This role integrates environmental administration, permit management, and sustainability initiatives across waste, air, and water domains.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, maintain, and manage environmental permits under the Clean Air Conservation Act, Waste Control Act, and Water Environment Conservation Act.
• Oversee waste management, including hazardous waste storage, treatment contracts, and electronic manifest reporting via the Allbaro system.
• Manage air emission controls, operate monitoring equipment, and submit self‑measurement data in line with HP EHSS standards.
• Supervise wastewater treatment operations, maintain logs, and coordinate outsourced treatment contracts using the Mulbaro system.
• Ensure legal compliance with all Korean environmental laws and align site practices with HP Global EHSS standards.
• Support the development and revision of EHS manuals, chemical substance management, and ISO 14001/45001 audits.
• Drive energy efficiency and renewable‑energy projects to meet GHG reduction targets.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Korean environmental legislation and international EHS standards.
• Experience in managing permits, waste, air, and water compliance programs.
• Ability to coordinate with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Proven track record in supporting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audit processes.

Required skills

• Familiarity with environmental permit management systems (e.g., Allbaro, Mulbaro).
• Operation of IoT‑based environmental monitoring equipment.
• Data entry and reporting for emissions and wastewater metrics.
