Strategic Talent Partner (HRBP) - Coupang Play

About the role

Coupang Play, an OTT video streaming service offering Original Series, TV shows, movies and sports, is looking for a Strategic Talent Partner (HRBP) in Seoul. The role partners with business leaders to build and run people strategies, supports business goals through the right people capabilities and organizational effectiveness, and coaches people managers and employees to prevent and resolve people issues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute core HRBP activities across employee relations, talent management, employee engagement and HR operations.
• Own and resolve complex employee issues and escalations, working with Legal, Compliance, Employee Relations and other stakeholders.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on HR policies and practices, adapting them to subsidiary businesses where needed.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, guiding and coaching across the employee lifecycle.
• Analyze people trends and metrics, identify insights and drive solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements, mitigating risk with Legal and HR Compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of total HR experience, including strong hands-on HRBP experience.
• Track record of advising, coaching and partnering with leadership and executives.
• Broad knowledge of talent acquisition, total rewards, talent management, performance management and L&D.
• Experience analyzing HR metrics and people analytics, and using AI tools to analyze HR data or optimize workflows.
• Fluent business-level English, written and spoken.

Preferred: experience in major conglomerates, tech unicorns or fast-paced startups; leading change management or organizational design in a matrixed environment; strong grasp of modern HR tech stacks and AI-driven people analytics tools. The position is full-time with a 12-week probation period, which may be skipped, shortened or extended.
