Regional Development Applications Engineer (PhD Fresh Graduates Welcome)

About the role

KLA, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing electronics, is hiring a Regional Development Applications Engineer for its Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) division in Hwaseong, South Korea. The FaST division provides metrology solutions for optical film thickness, optical critical dimension (CD), composition and resistivity measurement, supporting IC manufacturers from early R&D through high-volume manufacturing. The role suits PhD fresh graduates.

Key responsibilities

• Manage in-house customer demonstrations and head-to-head (H2H) activities at customer sites.
• Conduct new tool demonstrations to showcase tool performance and develop use cases that drive tool sales.
• Design experiments to characterize tool and subcomponent performance, demonstrating product value in alpha and beta testing and pilot tool support during the ramp phase.
• Work with the division's system and algorithm/software teams to develop data analysis methods for software and algorithm features.
• Support the next-generation tool New Feature Test and Wafer Demo, both offline and online.

Required profile

• Master's degree or above in Physics, Optics, Electronics, Mechanics, Materials or similar fields.
• Experience of 0 to 7 years; PhD fresh graduates are welcome.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of fab processes is highly preferred; OCD and X-ray related experience is a plus.
