Principal, HR Technology Architect

About the role

Coupang's People Systems Administration (PSA) team owns and evolves its recruiting and related HR technology ecosystem, supporting more than 14 platforms and working with Recruiting, People Operations, Corporate IT and global technology partners. As a Principal-level individual contributor, you will influence technology decisions, define scalable standards and shape the future of Coupang's recruiting and HR technology landscape, working closely with Corporate IT, Security, Privacy and Compliance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture strategy and integration roadmap for the recruiting technology ecosystem
• Establish and govern integration architecture standards across recruiting systems, including APIs, webhooks, middleware platforms and data flows
• Lead technical reviews and architectural assessments for platforms such as Greenhouse, Eightfold, BrightHire and internal solutions
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex cross-system incidents, coordinating root cause analysis across vendors and stakeholders
• Strengthen governance, risk management and data protection practices across the recruiting technology ecosystem
• Develop long-term technology roadmaps, integration strategies and AI-ready data foundations

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in IS / HRIS architecture, enterprise integration engineering, technical product management or related fields
• Experience influencing technology decisions across multiple stakeholder groups without direct reporting authority
• Fluent Korean and professional English
• Bachelor's degree

Required skills

• Enterprise integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, webhooks, middleware platforms and data modeling
• SQL, data analysis and troubleshooting complex integrations
• Supporting business-critical platforms with complex integration, security or compliance requirements
• Preferred: enterprise architecture and integration governance in a multi-vendor SaaS environment, HR technology roadmaps, data governance and privacy knowledge, AI-enabled talent acquisition experience, mentoring technical teams
