Forward Deployed Engineer - Seoul

About the role

OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering team partners with customers to turn research breakthroughs into production systems. As a Forward Deployed Engineer in Seoul you will lead end‑to‑end deployments of frontier models, owning discovery, technical scoping, system design, build and production rollout.

Key responsibilities

• Own technical delivery across multiple deployments from prototype to stable production.
• Build full‑stack systems that deliver customer value and inform product and model roadmaps.
• Embed closely with customer teams, understand needs, and guide adoption.
• Scope work, sequence delivery, remove blockers, and make trade‑offs between scope, speed and quality.
• Contribute directly in code when needed and codify patterns into reusable tools.

Required profile

• 5+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience with customer‑facing work.
• Experience delivering complex systems in fast‑moving or ambiguous environments.
• Ability to simplify complexity, make fast decisions under pressure and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Required skills

• Production‑grade coding in Python and JavaScript (or comparable stacks).
• Building or deploying systems powered by large language models or generative AI.
