Division Algorithms Engineer

About the role

KLA's Optical Metrology Division (OMD) develops advanced systems for optical overlay metrology, combining hardware and software to improve yield and efficiency for semiconductor manufacturers. As a Division Algorithms Engineer, you will research and develop algorithms for the next generation of optical metrology for semiconductor devices, working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment with little day-to-day instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop innovative algorithms for next-generation optical metrology of semiconductor devices
• Define challenges, carry out feasibility research, define concepts, develop solutions, run qualification tests and implement on tool
• Analyze data and evaluate multiple factors in problems of diverse scope
• Select methods and techniques with good judgment
• Collaborate with senior internal and external personnel

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Engineering or Physics, or M.Sc. with at least 3 years of experience (mandatory)
• Proven experience in signal or image processing (mandatory)
• Experience developing and implementing algorithms (mandatory)
• Experience in the semiconductor industry (an advantage)

Required skills

• Signal or image processing
• Algorithm development and implementation in MATLAB / Python
• Optical systems / microscopy (an advantage)
