Display Customer Engineer – Field Service Role

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Display Customer Engineer to serve as the direct liaison with customers in ChunAn, Korea. You will install, maintain, and upgrade advanced semiconductor and display equipment, using digital analytics and diagnostic techniques to ensure optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 1–2 years of customer/field service support experience (2–4 years preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills

• Digital analytics for equipment troubleshooting.
• Basic diagnostic techniques and use of digital multimeters.
• Reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and thermodynamics.
• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
