Application Engineer – Photo, Etch & Clean

About the role

The Application Engineer will lead the launch and development of ACEP photo, etch and clean products for BASF's R&D center in Ansan. You will work closely with global Center of Excellence teams to deliver samples, demos, and technical solutions to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute product demonstrations and experiments based on technical requests.
• Collaborate with CoE and Application & Development teams for new material and wafer demonstrations.
• Set up, optimize, and troubleshoot process recipes; manage sample analysis and tool operation.
• Communicate project status with customers and technical sales, preparing data reports and maintaining a backup database.
• Identify IP opportunities, conduct IP searches, and support IP registration for developed chemicals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or material engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in cleaning or wet etching technologies.
• Fluent English communication skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing).

Required skills

• Knowledge of cleaning and wet etching processes.
• Experience with cleaning products or photo ancillary chemicals.
• Ability to set up, optimize and troubleshoot process recipes.
• Proficiency in preparing technical reports and managing data repositories.
• Experience in IP search and registration for chemical innovations.
