Technical Product Support Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Technical Product Support Engineer to provide comprehensive technical support for customers in Hwaseong-Lucestar, Korea. You will act as the primary liaison for escalations, installations, and performance improvements, ensuring equipment reliability for advanced semiconductor and display manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all technical support aspects for assigned customers, including escalations, fleet performance, system installations, upgrades, and improvement programs.
• Serve as the field escalation focal point, delivering documentation and guidance to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel.
• Provide Alpha Site support for engineering installations, calibrations, and testing of new hardware, processes, or software.
• Deliver Beta Site support on customer tools, handling installation, operation, calibration, service, and testing.
• Review and communicate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure data integrity and field implementation.
• Generate and present system performance metrics such as MTBF, MTBI, and availability, along with process data and spending analysis.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in technical support disciplines and basic knowledge of related areas.
• Understands best practices, market competition, and how the role integrates with other functions.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and may lead small, low‑risk projects.
• Solves complex problems by analyzing multiple information sources and applying sound judgment.

Required skills

• PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) product knowledge.
• ETCH product knowledge.
