Senior Backend Engineer (High-Performance Systems)

About the role

Fever, a global platform for culture and live entertainment, is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in high-performance systems. The role sits behind the iOS and Android apps and the web service, which together serve over 300 million users in more than 55 countries. It is based in Korea and is 100% home-office friendly.

Key responsibilities

• First month: structured onboarding, setting up the Python-based stack, CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, learning the architecture and observability tools, and getting your first code running in production.
• After 3 months: design and deliver end-to-end features, take part in architectural discussions and propose improvements to services and APIs, and work with event-driven systems focused on performance, reliability and scalability.
• By month 6: take ownership of core components and help evolve their architecture, lead by example through code reviews, design sessions and mentoring, and contribute to best practices in scalability, observability and system design.

Required profile

• Proven software development excellence and a keen eye for code quality.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and push the boundaries of what is possible.
• Business English proficiency.

Required skills

• Maintainable, scalable code with test-driven development and design patterns.
• Relational databases and SQL.
• Event streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Handling services with high concurrency and high-volume requests.
• Datadog or similar profiling and monitoring tools.
• Ideally: Python (Django/Fast API), PostgreSQL and Redis, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
