Principal, FP&A (Rocket Growth)

About the role

Coupang Rocket Growth serves customers and sellers by helping hundreds of thousands of sellers list and sell millions of products through its Rocket Delivery service. The FP&A role is a key finance partner reporting directly to the head of Finance of Rocket Growth, providing guidance, advice and influence on business decisions with quantifiable impact. This is an internal transfer posting open only to current Coupang employees.

Key responsibilities

• Own the reporting of key metrics such as GMV, gross profit, net margin and contribution margin.
• Build in-depth visibility and set up financial guardrails for the Rocket Growth business.
• Forecast and plan financially, using strong input metrics modelling to achieve 95%+ accurate forecasts.
• Deliver ad-hoc financial analytics, such as ROI analysis of fee-waiving programs and impact assessments of new initiatives and potential fee changes.
• Own the full profit and loss of the business and present key financial insights to business leaders.
• Identify profitability improvements and drive initiatives that support growth while meeting financial guardrails.

Required profile

• 7+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience, including 5+ years of direct FP&A experience with exposure to the full P&L.
• 3+ years of experience in relevant industries such as ecommerce or retail.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English for day-to-day work and collaboration.
• Experience partnering with business and finance stakeholders across functions.

Required skills

• Practical data analysis skills, including data preparation, validation, analysis and presentation of findings.
• Preferred: experience in an MNC and with business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
