Modem Hardware/Baseband Engineer – Architecture & Network Solutions (Telematics)

About the role

The Senior Hardware/Baseband Engineer will join Aumovio's Telematics R&D team in Korea, developing Network Access Devices (NAD) for next‑generation Telematics Control Units (TCUs). The role focuses on high‑performance hardware platforms that integrate LTE/5G, GNSS, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet and in‑vehicle networks while meeting automotive standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate hardware and baseband solutions for NAD platforms and TCUs.
• Analyze and debug high‑speed modem interface signal‑integrity issues, including PCIe and USB.
• Perform system‑level integration, validation and root‑cause analysis across hardware, modem and software domains.
• Optimize thermal performance and power consumption to meet automotive reliability targets.
• Troubleshoot EMC/EMI issues and ensure compliance with automotive regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering.
• Strong experience in hardware development and baseband integration for wireless or automotive products.
• Proven ability to analyze and resolve memory‑related issues (DDR, NAND, eMMC/UFS).
• Experience with automotive communication technologies such as LTE/5G, GNSS, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet and CAN.

Required skills

• PCIe and USB high‑speed interface debugging.
• Signal integrity, power integrity and high‑speed digital design.
• Thermal and power consumption optimization for embedded systems.
• Memory technologies: DDR, NAND, eMMC, UFS.
• EMC/EMI troubleshooting and compliance.
• Use of measurement equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, power analyzers.
