Mechanical Engineer – CVC and ZCU in Architecture & Network Solutions

About the role
The Mechanical Engineer will lead the mechanical development of Central Vehicle Controllers (CVC) and Zone Control Units (ZCU) within Aumovio's Architecture and Network Solutions team in Korea. You will act as the primary interface with customers, translating their requirements into robust mechanical designs for high‑power automotive electronics.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the main mechanical engineering contact for customer discussions, technical reviews and requirement clarification.
- Capture, analyse and convert customer specifications into clear engineering inputs for globally distributed development teams.
- Lead mechanical technical discussions during design reviews, development milestones and issue‑resolution meetings.
- Evaluate change requests, assessing impact on design, timing, quality and cost.
- Own end‑to‑end mechanical deliverables from concept through production, driving technical decisions and cross‑functional coordination.
- Support mechanical architecture reviews for high‑power electronic products, evaluating thermal interfaces, heat‑dissipation concepts and housing structures.
- Coordinate prototype and sample builds, lead issue investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Mobilise global engineering resources to provide timely solutions for critical customer escalations.
Required profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience with automotive ECU mechanical design, including CVC, ZCU or similar domain controllers.
- Strong expertise in thermal management, cooling solutions and high‑power electronic enclosure design.
- Proven experience in requirement engineering, test planning and validation processes.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and ability to interpret customer drawings and CAD datasets.
- Understanding of multi‑PCB packaging, thermal interface design and automotive mechanical design methodologies.
- Experience managing customer requirements, engineering changes and technical discussions throughout product development.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication and ownership mindset; familiarity with automotive standards (e.g., vibration, IP rating) is preferred.
