MACH Software Applications Engineer

About the role

KLA's Measurement, Analytics and Control (MACH) team is looking for a software applications engineer in Hwaseong. The role is not a traditional software development position: its main purpose is installing, upgrading and stabilizing enterprise manufacturing software at customer sites, and supporting beta programs and product adoption. It focuses on deployment, system integration and troubleshooting, not on writing new software features.

Key responsibilities

• Install, upgrade and provide technical support for KLA Klarity KD / ACE software solutions at customer sites
• Support enterprise-scale manufacturing applications so they run stably in production environments
• Lead or support beta programs and product adoption projects, coordinating with customer engineers and internal teams
• Act as a technical interface between HQ engineering teams and local Business Units
• Troubleshoot issues related to software configuration, databases, Linux environments and system integration

Required profile

• A major in Computer Science is highly preferred, but a STEM background is acceptable
• Hands-on experience with enterprise application installation and maintenance
• Ability to work independently in customer production environments
• Strong problem-solving and technical documentation skills
• Comfortable working in Fab environments; semiconductor process engineer experience is not required

Required skills

• Linux administration and shell scripting (must-have)
• Nice to have: Oracle database administration / PL-SQL
• Nice to have: one or more programming languages such as C / C++, Python or Perl
• Nice to have: experience with Klarity Defect or Klarity ACE, manufacturing IT systems, factory software, or supporting global customers
