Korea Gateway Leader – Air Procurement & Pricing

About the role

Maersk is looking for an experienced Korea Gateway Leader to head air procurement and pricing strategy while managing the ICN Gateway team in Seoul. This high‑visibility position blends strategic sourcing with team leadership, directly influencing profitability and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end air procurement, pricing and commercial activities across airlines, customs brokers, trucking providers and other logistics partners.
• Develop and execute cost‑optimisation and pricing strategies that maximise profitability while maintaining service excellence.
• Build and strengthen strategic relationships with airline partners to secure capacity and improve cost efficiency.
• Drive cost‑setting activities and provide pricing expertise for global tenders, RFQs and key customer opportunities.
• Analyse market trends, capacity developments and rate movements to recommend effective procurement actions.
• Lead a team of four professionals at the Incheon Airport gateway, providing coaching, performance management and process optimisation.

Required profile

• 10‑20+ years of experience in air freight, freight forwarding or logistics.
• Strong background in air procurement, pricing, carrier management or product management.
• Proven track record negotiating with airlines, customs brokers and trucking companies.
• Experience participating in global or local customer tenders and RFQ processes.
• Leadership capability – either prior people‑management experience or high‑potential leadership skills.
