Director, Global Supply Chain Management

About the role

Coupang is looking for an experienced Director, Global SCM to lead strategic supply chain initiatives across its Global eCommerce business, Rocket Jikgu, which connects international sellers, logistics providers and customers through a global fulfillment network. The Director sets the architecture, cost structure and trade strategy and compliance of the international supply chain network and leads network expansion, cost-out and VCPU improvement, program management and cross-border trade strategies across Korea, Taiwan, the US, EU, Japan, China, Hong Kong and other markets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan the long-term global logistics network, including capacity modeling, linehaul routes, ocean/air freight and last-mile integration, and set network governance and throughput forecasting to identify capacity bottlenecks.
• Manage global vendor relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, fulfillment partners and customs brokers, including QBR standards, contract negotiations, multi-year rates and integration of emerging 3PL/4PL capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional supply chain programs that improve delivery speed and reduce cost, and oversee large-scale transformations with C-suite and VP-level alignment.
• Own the global logistics P&L, drive VCPU reduction, run cost-out steering committees and oversee billing audits, financial reconciliation and vendor payables.
• Set the trade strategy and compliance model for Korea and Taiwan, working with customs authorities and monitoring tariffs and free-trade agreements.

Required profile

• Bilingual fluency in Korean and English.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, global logistics or international network planning, with director-level leadership.
• Proven track record managing high-volume 3PL/carrier networks, contract negotiations and multi-million-dollar logistics P&Ls.
• Executive communication and stakeholder management in high-growth environments.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in cross-border eCommerce, retail marketplace, consulting or tech-driven global logistics.
• Knowledge of Korea's logistics ecosystem and strong project governance background.
• Expertise in cross-border trade compliance, customs regulations and import/export operations for Korea and Taiwan.
